$900 msrp. EvokeFew details. Betting there will be no lefty… 😢 I know.. It’s a Christensen… somebody’s brothers mechanic had one that they had to send back… It’s ugly… It’s not a Tikka It’s blah blah blah… Oh yeah. No one has handled one, but it won’t shoot. 😂😂 Options are good…

Is it still just another 700 clone?

Is it still just another 700 clone? Whatever this means…. Each Evoke model builds on Christensen Arms’ storied history of world-class manufacturing, incorporating a proprietary three-lug action and unmatched feature set.

Not if only offering right hand models.

Evoke sounds more like a damn perfume name. It's a bit on the porky side too. I hope they prove to be good rifles though.

I recently (Dec) bought the Ridgeline FFT 6.5 PRC. Weighs under 6 lbs 5ozs scoped. Shoots under an inch with some factory loads. Have not reloaded for it yet. So far I'm ok with the +2K price. It will be a deer rifle for south central NC, WV mountains. I am reloading Hornady 129/143gr and Barnes 100 grain TTSX.

Not if only offering right hand models. And not if they do offer a left hand model with a huge upcharge. I intended to buy a Mesa in left hand and found out they charge another $250 for the left hand option. That is a no go for me.

I'd be interested if the mag is AICS and not something proprietary.

Hopefully there are some short-barreled variants too.

Bout everything in a hunting gun I don't want.
Bought a ridgeline in 6.5x284. Shot ok. But the rifle felt chincy to me. Went down the road. They cloned a 700 alright, but just didn't no it quite as good.
Glad the put the pistol dick handle on it with that muzzle break. That will really help that 6.5 prc cartridge.....but you know looks kill lol. Good prop for a picture.

Well some of us are mostly azz-sitters and won't fret a little more weight in such a rifle. I will say that when you add a can to something like that (especially at 20+ inch barrel length) the balance can quickly get too nose-heavy. If it was intended for suppressed use, I'd have gone 18" with a slightly lighter contour and a flared bell at muzzle to allow for a 5/8x24 threads. Then it might balance and still be portable.

Is it still just another 700 clone? Looks to me to be more of a Salvage clone . . . . .

Well some of us are mostly azz-sitters and won't fret a little more weight in such a rifle. It's true. I had a fella recently inquire about reason(s) for selling a rifle that I currently have for sale - "I'm building one similar with a little more heft to it". He seemed a bit perplexed by that.

the limited info says it is a new proprietary, 3 Lug action 60 degree bolt throw. I could not find a list of chamber choices.

Looks like it may have a Savage/Remage style barrel nut, can't tell for sure.

Can't say I disagree on anything said here. That 'extra' weight could be a real biatch on the 100yd walk from the ATV/UTV/Truck/SUV to the elevated, and heated, deer condo.....

Hey, it's generally more like 500yds to the blind. Got to get the daily steps in to walk off the Little Debbies. I will add that Christensen is probably on to something successful here though, as much as I might want to tweak a few design elements. At least they went stainless steel and non-fluted with the barrel, which is a big factor for me. For an $800-ish street price, a guy can always cut and thread at his desired length if he wants. The stock looks like a good pattern and the trigger is bound to be acceptable. I'd consider it a solid offering, provided they shoot. Beats most of the other stuff I've seen offered at SHOT so far.
