Gents,

Would anyone happen to know how the fluted Roughtech and CTR barrel profiles compare? Is the CTR heavier at the same length?

Thanks!

I don't have the details in front of me but a CTR is a heavier contour in all aspects. Think of the Lite like the standard 700. the D18/Roughtech at the 700 magnum and the CTR as the Sendero.

From what I was told when I was looking at rebarreling my T3 7mag a while back, the Ctr is slightly heavier than the roughtech. The roughtech is somewhat between the Lite and CTR. By how much, not sure, but I do know that JA outdoors had some takeoff barrels, fluted, that had 5/8-24 threads. You not getting that with a Lite barrel.

Likewise, I appreciate it!

The Roughtech seems to be more what i am looking for out of the box....although overall weight and feel might not be that much different since its also two inches longer. Threading aint a big deal

FWIW, I had a CTR in 308. Liked a lot about it, but just found it heavier than I wanted to hunt with. Kept about 3-4 years and only used it as a range gun. But my standard T3 in 308 was equally accurate and 2 lbs lighter. I liked the shorter barrel of the CTR, but sold it, chopped the barrel on the T3 to 19" and have no regrets. Spare 10 round CTR mags are $85-$100. I have several 5 round mags for the T3 that I'm content with.
