One of the interesting things about the Internet, and perhaps even more so on the Campfire, is how people misspell so many names--often those of people they're fans of. Probably 1/4 to 1/3 spell Jack O'Connor's last name O'Conner, even though they claim to own a bunch of his books. It would be relatively easy to look at their covers, but apparently that's too much work.

Now, neither Yakima Canutt's names is as common as Jack or O'Connor, but it would be pretty easy to Google it. In fact I just Googled Yakina Curnutt, and two things immediately popped up--first this thread, and then "Do you mean: Yakima Canutt?"

Read something on him decades ago where he was holding his favourite rifle, a pre-'64 model 70 in .375 H&H.

I have perused quite a few of Wabi's posts.

I have yet to discern whether he is engaging in what might be styled as "eye dialect" or heterography in order to gain attention, or whether he is just out to lunch?

Most likely a G&A special publication from the 70's. They out a few back then. Will see if I can find it.
