I picked up a three gun lot today.


-Amalite AR7 22LR survival rifle
-Savage Model 24 over under in 410/22LR Ser # C730xxx
-Westpoint 424 (made by Savage and same as Savage Model 24 (I think) just marketed for that store) over under in 222 REM/20 Gauge Ser # D707xxx.

I’m trying to figure out the dates of manufacture of the two Savages. Any help appreciated.

The site seems geared towards Savage 99s, it will also tell me the date of my 24s?

Yes, practically all US made Savage guns from 1969 and onwards shared the same serial numbers.

A123456 might have been a Savage 99C.
A123457 might have been a Savage 24.
A123458 might have been a Savage 110.

So the site should date most anything from 1969 to 2002, except special runs or Puerto Rico made guns..
