Federal, by a touch. CCI200s are the mildest of the big name LR primers. WLR are probably the hottest of the standards.

Some load notes just as a bit of comparison

375W 200gr Shock Hammer
N130 w CCI200 - 1576fps
Same charge of N130 WLR - 1691fps

250 Savage 87gr HC
IMR3031 CCI200 - 2917fps
Same charge 3031 Fed210 - 2960fps
Same charge 3031 WLR - 3129fps

Pretty much the same kind of results with anything I've chronographed involving CCI, Fed, and Win standard LR primers.

I wish I could give credit to the original author, but I can't remember where I even got this, it's been a few years back. I found it interesting, but I have no idea how accurate this test is.

I also ran a limited test to try to rank primers by brisance or "hotness" kind of like a burn rate chart. I established two very consistent loads, one each in .223 and .308 then shot ten-shot strings with different primers. I judged "hotness" by velocity results only.

It was difficult enough finding them all that I only did rifle primers. From "Hot" at the top to "cool" at the bottom, here's what I found.

Small Rifle Primers

Note: some results were very close together, such as the Fed 215 and WLRM. In another cartridge or another load, they might reverse.

I have been shooting the 300WM for at least 40 years, would highly suggest using Fed215's or Rem9 1/2M's

CCI250's work just fine. I would not use a CCI200 in a 300, or any other "magnum" for that matter.

Not a .300 Win Mag, but I recently tried both CCI 200 and Fed 210 primers in the same 6.5 Creedmoor load with 140 grain Ballistic Tips and Reloder 16. I got slightly higher velocities (10-15 fps) with the CCI 200's. That might indicate that for the specific primers I used, the CCI's were slightly hotter.

This--except maybe the Winchester "standard" LR primer, which is generally the "hottest" of the standard primers.

Different lots of the CCI 200 and Fed. 210 will easily vary that much.

So based on that observation, would you say that on average, CCI 200 and Federal 210 primers are about equivalently hot?

Was recently told by someone who has good reason to know and no affiliation with any of the primer companies that they found Federal primers to be the least affected by temperature swings.

A side note. I have not seen ANY rifle primers on the local shelves since Brandon got elected. I just ordered a couple hundred SRP 22 Creed brass, and needed SRPs for the first time.
Midway has the CCI 41 in stock at $100/K. I ordered a couple bricks.

Plus hazmat, of course. My first hazmat order. I ordered a few pounds of powder as well, since I already paid the hazmat.

Any update on these, especially #34's?

That's all I have, I haven't seen anything more from this guy.

According to the text on page 37 of the #13 Speer manual, the #34 is ballistically equivalent to the 250 and the #41 is equivalent to the 450.
