I am looking to get a spotting scope for target work. I am looking to stay in the $500-$700 range.
Is anyone familiar with the Leupold SX-2 Alpine scopes. I will be using it for 200-300 yard ranges maybe a little more, but
don't have anywhere to shoot that distance.

I don't have one, but you really need to look at Depth of Field. You will find that once you go past 45 X, it narrows considerable .Even at 45 X You wil have trouble adjusting it to clarity. On warm days mirage will block out anything at the upper power level

My preference is 15-45 X
