Ronald Reagan was a true believer who got into office on a massive wave of public support, despite all the efforts of the deep state. Once in office, though, they laid it out for him that the president isn't really in charge of anything important anymore. When he rejected that concept, and started the process of returning the nation and world to the gold standard (directing his staff, along with a Republican Congressman and US Senator, to research how that could be done), a little over a year after being first sworn in, he was shot and barely survived. After that, he mainly went along to get along, but still did what he could to be pro-American, such as slipping in unauthorized speeches here and there.

Reagan and Trump won the Republican primaries only because they were popular enough to win. The republican committeel only went along because they knew they would lose the general election with anybody else. But they put Bush1 as VP for Reagan, and Pence for Trump, because they knew they could control them.
Bush1, was luckily not a factor during Reagan. But the plant Pence deliberately allowed a clearly fraudulent election to stand in 2020. He is an absolute traitor to this country!
Maybe we’re too far down the slippery slope to recover. I don’t know.
But I for one grew up thanking God to be born here. I still believe that there enough good people who love this country, who know the difference between right and wrong. I believe this is so, and I know fully well, that I will be labeled “undesirable. Best be eliminated” once the godless evil socialist gain control for good.
But I swore an oath freely, do defend the Constitution with my life, if need be. I loved the country I’d grown up in, and I wanted to guarantee the same to my son.
