In a Previous thread thomasconnor pointed out that "Pike Arms" makes a Left Hand Safety for the 10/22;
https://www.pikearms.com/catalog/product/5040-00418Price is $19.99, shipping at $10 is a bit outrageous for such a small part (it was shipped priority).
"Pike Arms" appears to be Tactical Innovations, Don't know why the different name? I've got a couple of their (Tactical Innovation) 22 LR suppressors.
I bought this to see if it could be installed in my Kidd 10/22 trigger group, no problem with that. I also installed it in a Ruger 10/22 trigger group... again no problem with the install and functioned as it should in both trigger groups.
This has to be about the easiest part I've ever replaced in a 10/22 (I've replaced pretty much everything in these trigger groups).
The pictures are of a Kidd trigger group, I removed all of the internals so that it would be easier to see in the photo's. You do not have to remove anything from the trigger group to install one of these... just remove the trigger group from the barreled action.
The factory safety;
1.) With the safety between your thumb and index finger center it in the trigger group, and then rotate it Counter-Clockwise 90 degrees (as viewed from the LEFT Hand side of the trigger group). Even with the internals in place you will be able to see what looks like an 'M' on the safety;
2.) Push the safety slightly to the right hand side of the trigger group and then with the replacement safety in the same orientation use it to push the factory safety the rest of the way out of the trigger group. Center the replacement safety and rotate the safety Clockwise (as viewed from the Left Hand side of the trigger group) 90 degrees and check the function. Note; just to confuse the issue==> in the photo I used a RH safety to push out the factory safety;
3.) Shown installed in my 10/22;
My apologies if I lost you on the install, Pike Arms includes written instructions that are easy to follow.
