friend has a rem. 870 twenty gage built on 12 gage receiver? ever heard of that?

All Remington 870 20 gauges were built on the 12 gauge receiver from 1950 until 1977.

I have two of them. One was made in 1975 and was the first new shotgun I ever bought. The second was made in 1965 and is now used as a slug gun with a Hastings rifled barrel. The 16 ga guns were also built on the 12 ga frame.
The same was done with the 1100 model in 20 and 16 ga guns.

Yes, have a great example of one from mid 70ish time. Keep in mind that 20 ga barrels made on newer models will not fit those older ones because the ring is a larger size

They also did the same with some 1100's

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....
