Picked up an sx4 20 gauge in bottomland camo with a 24 inch barrel today! Have been shooting a 28 inch sx4 for a couple years and wanted something shorter! Going to try the factory full with the apex 8.5 tss and see why it will do. Killed a lot of turkeys with it but I got tired of the pump 12 kicking my teeth in and the 20 will kill them farther than I will shoot.

I have a sx4 20 with a 26 in barrel, #9 tss and a .570 Rob Roberts choke works good for me, I’m fighting the urge to make a run to Hunters Haven and pick up the 24in.

Congrats! You are going to be pleased. The SX4 is a great gun. Especially in 20 gauge.
I've got the 28" waterfowl version in 20 gauge that pulls double duty on small game and turkeys. For #9 TSS, I use a Carlsons Extended TSS Choke, .565. Throws a hellua pattern at 40 yards.
A 24" would be hard to pass up. I have a SX4 Universal Hunter 12 gauge with a 24" barrel. It's a very handy gun.

I saw the 2022 exclusive for hunters haven online and just went by to see if they had any left and there it was. Probably the least amount of time I’ve pondered a 1k gun purchase while in the store. Grabbed it, pointed it and said I’ll take it. Got to find a picatinny mount that will fit it so I can throw this holosun on it.

That was the one thing I didn't like about the picatinny mount I got for my SX4. It seemed really high. I couldn't find a lower one. Ended up taking it off and just putting a HiViz fiber optic out there at the end. The thing I like about the Universal Hunter, at least the one I have, is that the 24 inch barrels don't have any rise to the rid in front of the receiver. I did. At the time, they didn't have one for that gun. I haven't checked since, since I'm not going back to a red dot.
