We are blessed that our oldest son and his wife live in the same town as us. Thats not often the case these days. This weekend we got to watch the 3 boys wrestle and spend the day with our granddaughter. Last night all 6 of them came over for the Superbowl.
They show up, its kickoff time and the two youngest ones proudly jump in my lap to show me a picture…said they were going to be big brothers. After looking the picture over, pretty sure the ultrasound was a baby sucking its thumb.
After the congratulations I told my daughter in law shes got the Suburban filled up, and if she pops any more out, people gonna start thinking they Amish haha.
My wife is plenty excited to, nothing gets a woman going like weddings and new babies. That is all.

Grandkids are great. When you babysit, you can give them some chocolate and a soft drink right before they are picked up and get even with your son or daughter. 😂

Kids are mobile these days. Our closest grandchildren are 700 miles away. The rest are farther.

So the 2 youngest ones added a game and a friend request to my ipad last night. They are 5 and 7. This morning I got a video snapchat call from them to join them playing a couple games. I know its not hunting and fishing quite yet, kinda slow time of the year around here.
Seems like plenty of time to pass some wisdom on but it goes by pretty quick. My oldest grand daughter informed me yesterday that this year she would be old enough to vote come November. We had a good laugh about her determining the direction of this country…a funny and yet sobering thought.

Kids are mobile these days. Our closest grandchildren are 700 miles away. The rest are farther. Our only[son] is a hard 45 mile drive away, 1.5 to 2 hours. We don't see them as often as we would like but with all involved still fulltime employed it is what it is. They live on his wifes families farm where they've been for 8-9 generations, they're somewhat secluded and a tad clanish. Her dad is a preacher and home with the grandkids[both boys] most days, they're also homes chooled on the farm by a cousin. Short story long. 3-4 years ago wife and I walked into his church where they were gathered for Trunk or Treat. The eldest grandson was 2 or so at the time. He saw me walk in and screamed "Paw Paw", jumped down off of his other grandpas lap and ran across the church to hug us with a big grin! Prior to that moment I had honestly been worried about our place in his mind & heart, no more.

2 granddaughters here one 2 1/2yrs old the other 8 months. They are the light of my life. Thank goodness they only live 10 miles away. Being Papa is one of the greatest joys on earth.

One of my grandsons is making me a great grandchild. I believe she's due to arrive in June.
