I received the Skinner rail. It was sent from the US and got here quickly. Model 92 levers are meant to be light, easy to carry and shoulder. I wasn't too concerned about the sight getting in the way because I had already done this with my 30-30.

Here are some pictures of everything installed. The four holes for the mount are under the rear sight. That had to be removed and takes a minute to do. If you do this, put the rear sight in a baggie, label it and keep it where it won't get lost! The sight only fits one way. Make sure it is correctly oriented so that the rail is flat.





The sight mounts on the rail with two Allen screws. This only takes a couple of minutes. The sight does not get in the way when carrying the rifle.





The pic is blurry, but shows the sight installed. It is sighted in the same way as a scope.

These sighters are powdered bullets and are Deep Purple.

I’ve got the 16” version in .44 mag, stainless. I tried to do that but didn’t like the outcome. I bought one of the peep sights that replaces the safety and fiber optic front. It’s a handy little gun! I believe Steve’s Gunz or some such was where I got it all at

I put a Skinner barrel mount aperture on my M92, but it's a Winchester.

Those Skinner peep sights are a great solution to junky OEM sights. I had one on my 464 for a few years. The only reason I swapped it out with another sight was I had difficulties with the sight picture. It was hard for me to use in the trees near the farms I hunted. It was dark and I had acquisition problems. I needed a larger aperture.


I like that we have more sight options. Firearms manufacturers realized a long time ago that many people just didn't use the junky sights they put on their rifles. I am not sure of everyone's ages, but in the dim times virtually every rifle, regardless of action type, was sold with some form of rudimentary iron sight. I guess the bean counters realized that they could save .50 cents per unit by eliminating them.

For levers, I have to say that Rossi providing mounting holes under their rear sight was a great idea!

Andy is good people, his company makes some great stuff. I had one of his peep sites on my Marlin 1894 chambered in .44 Mag. Loved it, my son talked me out of that rifle though.
I plan to add them to both my Win 94 30/30 and Henry .22 though.
I also have a few other ideas rattling around my brain.....

You will have to post your results, Jeff. I have a M92 in 44 Mag, and had a Williams peep sight installed. It has a larger aperture and works well at woods ranges.

I'll likely add the sight to the Henry first. I have been looking at a few updates to it for a year or so. Fun little .22.
I'll post up the results when I get it done for sure.

I have a Rossi and mounted a FF lll to mine. Looks good and works well for me.
