I discovered a small maker yesterday while staying in Wickenburg AZ. After visiting with him and looking at some of his offerings, one was calling to me. He uses both CM154 and CPM154 and sends to Buck for heat treat to RC 60-61. Workmanship appears quite good...

California Buckeye scales with turquoise to fill pin knots. 8" overall length - 3-3/8" blade with 3" cutting edge. The maker emphasized every step in the process is done by hand with no use of jigs or fixtures. The uniformity/consistency of his grinding is impressive for being all handwork.

I met him in Wickenburg at the Gold Rush Days event where he had a booth set up as a vendor. I assume he's in Prescott Valley per his website.

Very nice! You'll have to let us know how the edge holds up.
