Yes they look real nice .Mine shoots better than I do.

I was shooting at the range a while ago and my son and my wife do better than I can. Of course , they spend more time aiming.

You cannot beat the 54 actions. Been around since 1954.

They are superb rifles 65BR - only “complaint” many have is their weight - for a sporter. I don’t think they are too heavy personally but they aren’t a Winchester 75 or Remington 541S weight wise either. Many like the added weight for offhand shooting. The accuracy, stock ergonomics and overall appearance is classic (not in today's world of course but in the world of walnut and blue).

I’ve had both, couldn’t make my mind up on which one I wanted so I bought both, shot both, and settled on the 1710! Didn’t like the 2 stage trigger in the 1712 and for whatever reason the 1710 just seems easier for me to shoot.

My 1710 is pretty lot picky but will shoot eley match pretty darn good.

1710s are great. There are a pair in my family. Eley subsonic hp are sensational in both. SK Standard Plus is close to that.

I've owned a couple 1710 heavy barrels. They were fantastic shooting rifles, but since I don't really shoot as much at our family range as I used to, I sold them. I still have a 54 Sporter that's lighter than the heavy barrels and easier to carry around the woods. I don't think you'll regret an Anschutz.

Junk. Might not be the popular opinion but that's the experince I had with them.

Purchased a 1710 HB last year. It was plagued with ejection issues. Why a 2500$ rimfire can't eject reliably and a 200$ savage mk2 throws them into the next county is beyond me.

Also mine came with absolutely zero finish. Anywhere you handled it, it left major marks. On the forearm where it rode the bags, on the sides of the forearm, on the comb, etc. I wish I had taken pics.

Of course Annie wanted $$$ to fix it.

My Sporter weight 54 has been great. I find even the (not heavy barrel) 1710/1712 Sporters to be substantial for a 22. Like a full size centerfire rifle.

That's why my favorite for shooting standing these days is (a pound lighter) a 1416 with the two-stage 5 ounce trigger...Tom
