Just got back from a non-hunting trip and to Prague. Budapest is tourist friendly
and the exchange rate is OK. The Hungarian guides are good-partially based on
Hungary is lower on the economic totem pole than its neighbors Austria and Germany.
Generally less customs hassles. Go to Buda castle if it is open, they have been working on it.

I helped them with a mis-labeled 1895 Winchester musket in 7.62 Russian. Dates back to
the Russian 1917 revolution and probably was someone's war trophy.

Hi Ed, haven't hunted there, but did the tourist thing.

As per above, lots to do & see, amazing history.

Outside of Prague, the people of the regions were friendly & genuine.

We got a weird "vibe" in Prague, but just didn't go outside our comfort zone.

I just looked at a brochure about an outfit in Hungary a friend brought back from SCI...I presume its the same one you are looking at. REALLY nice trophy critters and I think Ive seen them featured on a TV show, they looked like they do things right for sure. As others have said Ive heard lots of good sightseeing in Hungary. Keep us posted if you go ahead with plans!

Interesting. Hunted in what was then had just become the Czech Republic 30 years ago, spending some time in Prague as well as other places, and never got that feeling. But that was shortly after the Soviets left....

John, it was more about the big groups, of "shady" looking young adults, hanging out & cruising the square & tourist locales.

Very gypsy-eske !

Hotel, restaurant & store staff were fine.

YouTuber Cap and Ball has a lot of hunting videos from Hungary, mostly using vintage guns. Beautiful country. Not sure about opportunities for foreigners. Looks like they follow similar traditions as in Germany.

I haven't hunted there either, closest I hunted was its neighbor Romania. I have been there though and spent time in Budapest and really enjoyed it.

I'd not set foot in Hungary due to the Premier Minister Victor Orban as the pompous self-dealing holdout of promises delayed in the Hungarian Parliament Yea vote for Sweden entry into NATO. The Swedes deserver far more and as Orban and is band of supporters deserve far less. A Thirty Member Yes vote as one singular as "maybe, later if the mood strikes. He and his Party are historically Putin supporters. Not a 'mere allegation'. A welll known fact. h

Does an English language only traveler do OK in Hungary, Czech Republic, and Romania?
