This could open a whole new plan of attack against leftist governments.

Good move when the DOJ is wishing for conservatives to get violent.

Good, about time wonder what's been taking so long. Now they need to target other deep blue states especially the sanctuary ones.

It needs to happen to California. There is or was a plan to smog check trucks from out of state but I don't think they were going to check trucks from south of the border. Go figure.

Plays right into the feds plans for electronic money. If the truckers money supply could be shut off they could be better controlled.

Perfect plan. If you have a communist gov't in your area, you don't get any truck shipments. We need to support theses truckers. If you plan to live without them you better be ready to become a mountain man.

I think they are doing it out of spite. They should go a different way instead. They need to tell California they just can't make money going into that state with $7? diesel anymore. To make matter worse we are always getting harrassed by the California Transportaion Department, and handing us fines for some things so simple as having plastic caps instead of steel caps on our tire stems... We can't make money when we leave a truck for 10 minutes and the back door is busted open, and our load is damaged beyond repair. We can't make money when we need to sit there wasting time getting our engines smog checked... We can't make money there. We are very sorry , but we are so short on drivers anyway that we have to cut out somewhere, and half the truckers we do have refuse to go in to California anyway... Feel free to change your laws so we can do business together, until then , we are sorry, we can't help you.

Is this going to be like the truckers shutting down the DC beltway? Or is it going to be the border convoy?

This is only partially true. Trucking is pretty tight right now, so any interference will have an impact. Any amount of misery inflicted to these communist bastards is a good thing. Expect them to recruit the illegals to the trucking industry should this have a tangible impact. That will be their counter play.

howdy, that all sounds good but it's never going to happen.

A NY, CA boycott would be the better deal for truckers, at least the independent guys. Harder to cut their money off. They Canadians should’ve just stopped hauling to Ottawa.

I don’t know how effective it would be though. It’s my understanding there’s pretty much a surplus of trucking capacity at the moment, and there will always be outfits willing to haul to those places.

My company recently cut it’s freight calculations to a lot of places, and they usually keep a bit of “padding” in there.

Hard to argue that.

I'd add Puerto Rican outfits to that mix, running FL to NY.

You sound like that has not been happening for many years.

I have spent the last 25 years on a small loading dock, dealing with as many as twenty truck drivers per day.

Whether they be Arab of some nature, Sheik, Mexican, South American, or from some region formally part of the USSR, half of them speak very little to no English. Of those, all of their communications with their dispatcher is in their native language. Which indicates to me the entire company is formed of illegals.

It is sad when you look forward to the driver originating from the ghetto of Atlanta Georgia. He may not be able to hit the dock in the first five tries, and he may be five hours, or a day late for his loading appt. But at least you can tell him why you just rejected his trailer.

The trucking industry has been flat on it's butt for the last year.

Lots, and lots of independents refuse to run Cali and New York City. Maybe even a majority. But the Chicago Russian 1099 companies and the majors have no problem running there. Just send Ivan or the rookie there, hope for the best. Cali rates have actually been average or below for a while. Until the VAST majority of drivers refuse NYC and CA, nothing at all will change.

Yeah, those trains aren't going to NYC but there are plenty of trains that do.

Last mile... the trucks that do that job are already in the NYC area.

If 20% of truckers stopped taking loads to the NYC area that would hurt them.... I don't care if nothing gets delivered or not, I do want to see NYC feel some pain. NY State using "lawfare" to attack any business on the Right is a very big deal IMO.

Hochul tells NY businesses not to fear about Trump verdict: ‘Nothing to worry about’
BY LAUREN IRWIN - 02/18/24

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) addressed New York business owners in a new interview and told them there was “nothing to worry about” after former President Trump was hit with a $355 million fine and a ban on conducting business in New York for three years.

Hochul joined John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM, where she was asked if other New York businesspeople should be worried that if “they can do that to the former president, they can do that to anybody.”

“I think that this is really an extraordinary, unusual circumstance that the law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers who are business people have nothing to worry about, because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior,” Hochul responded.

A New York judge on Friday ordered Trump to pay the massive sum in penalties in a civil fraud case. The decision came just weeks after closing arguments wrapped up a months-long trial based on a suit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) alleging Trump falsely altered his net worth to receive tax and insurance benefits.

The judge, Arthur Engoron, found Trump, the Trump Organization, top executives and his adult sons liable for fraud.

Hochul said there was no way she would overrule Engoron’s decision because “we need a clear separation of powers.” She added that “that’s what was envisioned by our Founding Fathers.”

The governor provided reassurance to New York businesses after the ruling. “By and large, they are honest people and they’re not trying to hide their assets and they’re following the rules,” she said of the people who own and conduct business in the New York City area.

“And so this judge determined that Donald Trump did not follow the rules. He was prosecuted and truly, the governor of the state of New York does not have a say in the size of a fine, and we want to make sure that we don’t have that level of interference,” she said.

This can be dealt with easily enough. I remember how striking coal miners fixed problems back in the day.

The large carriers, mid sized carriers and even the small carriers will market to prospective drivers that they "do not do NYC". Carriers have been avoiding the city for decades. Most don't go there anyway. They deliver close, local NYC carriers move the freight in town. They're not going to shut down, they live there and the guy delivering stuff to Edison or Allentown will convince themselves it's not headed to NYC and they didn't deliver to NYC.

This is a nothingburger wrapped in vapor. The only people worked up about the boycott are people who either don't own/operate trucks (calling for the boycott) or don't understand how trucking works (those saying they'll report freight stolen if not delivered).

'Chicago Ray' Folds-up his Tent and goes Home

"No One's Got To Me... I Ain't Scared Of [bleep]" - NYC Trucker Boycott Leader 'Chicago Ray' Steps Down

Chicago Ray, the trucker who ignited the righteous anger of his fellow truckers and of millions of other Americans, has stepped down from his boycott leadership. Does that mean the end of the trucker boycott of New York City?

We the people know what happened to Chicago Ray. Despite his denials, the enforcers of the Deep State made a phone call or left a message under the windscreen wipers of his truck like, "Boycott Boy, you gonna have a bad accident before your haul is over." Or they made a call to his cell phone like, "If you don't end this boycott bullshit your family and home will be gone when you get back home."

You can almost see and hear those threats when Chicago Ray posted, "I took that video down from Friday because it went viral and my Grandson seen it on Tik Tok."

Newsweek reported Chicago Ray took down his original post and posted a new one on Monday "in which he distanced himself from the boycott calls and stressed that he was not encouraging anyone to do anything." That post was also later deleted, but a screen grab of it was shared (with Newsweek) by the progressive MeidasTouch in which he said, "Just to be clear… I'm no figurehead of any movement..."

Newsweek also reported Chicago Ray said, "I'm not leading, nor have I encouraged, or am I encouraging anyone to do anything other than what they were doing prior to the ruling on Friday in New York City."

Does that sound like the way trucker Chicago Ray talks, or does it sound like someone dictating a statement to him?

Zero Hedge

Sounds like the Thugs got to him .........

That, and plenty of newly minted "residents" that can be trained to drive trucks on the cheap, from newly minted "companies". . Interpreters are available....
