I guess I'm spoiled after getting my Tisas GI 1911 A1 for $300.00 with free shipping. The one Bud's is peddling has better sights and a Commander-style hammer, which are nice if you get bitten with a GI type. The slightly better sights are worthwhile, too. Overall, I think they're better than the GI type, for those reasons, but I have no interest in the GI guns any more, I NEED those sights and I like not getting bitten.

They are taller GI sights, like Colt put on the Series 80 models. Nothing special at all, but better than GI.

How is that rear sight attached? Regular dovetail, just like a GI pistol, just the sight is taller.

Just bought one. The stuff I read on them make it impossible to pass that deal up. Do you have one?

Those are the ones they're talking about here. Yes, they are Turkish, and yes, they are made very well indeed.

There are plenty of dealers with prices the same, or lower than Buds that do not charge state sales tax.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I picked mine up from the FFL this afternoon. I'm pleased with what I see with it. I'm probably going to carry this while fishing, any suggestions for a holster?

Holsters are very much a personal decision, so suggestions may or may not be all that helpful. For me, when I'm out in the woods, I carry the .45 in a modified M7 shoulder/chest holster. I really don't want anything on my belt when hiking. Daily wear, though, I have the open top holster from 1791 Gunleather. Been wearing that for probably 2 years now, and it is still as new. Very thick heavy leather and well made.
