If you play both sides, you get favors from both sides and 45k compared to what they give/do for the DNC isn't much...

They know that The RNC and McRomney will use that money to stop Trump and /or other MAGA candidates, while at the same time giving the illusion that things are changing.

It is a gesture being publicized to appease some of the dues payers. Would have been better if they donated it directly to Trump’s campaign. Rhinos and demos are opposite sides of the same coin.
