Morning fellas: one of my pre-64 trigger guards, a featherweight, has the floorplate release button stuck in its lowest position. I tried to soak it with Kroil last night but its still stuck and I don't think I can safely get anything around it to try pulling it out. Anybody had this problem before? There's a dowel pin that appears to perhaps keep the button in position but I've never had one out. Anybody had this issue or had that apart? thanks guys.

That dowel pin drives right out from either left or right but that's probably not the problem. After you remove that pin, there is usually a small hole in the underside that can be used to push the plunger out. Then clean out the hole

thanks much jkob! I looked at the underside and there's a tiny hole, maybe 1/32nd or so facing the button. That has to be what you're referring to. If I can make something that small for a punch I'll give it a whirl.

Got it fixed. It wasn't corroded, just stuck in down position. My machinist friend had a very small wire that worked. It didn't take that much force once we got the dowel pin out. The hole is just for pushing the plunger outward. thanks guys.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
