Leupold lists the eyepeice diameter on those scopes at 1.8". If your rifle has the origional bolt handle not altered for more clearance , I don't see how you can get away with anything lower than the Talley nediums.
I have a set of Talley LW lows on my pre-64 based custom and the vx5hd. When I run the bolt fast it will kiss the ocular.'s side. I have never had a problem with it but mediums would be better in that regard
I have a McMillan edge stock on it and mediums wouldn't offer a good cheek weld for me though.
I was trying to scope my CZ452 last week. The bolt was hitting any scope i tried to put on it other than the 30- year- old Burris 2-7 it had.. i could find any new scopes that didn't have giant ocular housings. I had to put a picatinny rail on it to get the clearance.
