People who complain about the recoil of a .35 Whelen with "heavy" 250s at over a very mild 2400 fps, should be honest in declaring themselves fearful of recoil getting up around 27 - 30 ft-lbs! And that includes numbers like 7 mm magnums, and especially .300 mags, and anything above that. Don't try to "paint" others who shoot and like .35 Whelens at full power as other than "normal", because they also like and USE in hunting, rifles like, not only the .35 Whelen, but 7 mags, 300 mags, .338 mags and .375 mags. My .35 Whelen ready to hunt with scope and ammo weighs less than 8 lbs. It's two hunting loads are: the 225gr Nos AB at 2850 fps and the original 300gr Barnes at over 2400 fps. It has a 1-12 tr.
