I recently bought a Thompson Center Encore in 209x 50 magnum. I was curious if any one has found loads these guns have liked more than others.

PeacemakerSolutions,

I can't believe it's been 9 years since I posted in this forum LOL time flies.

Anyway, my Encore 209X50 likes 2 Triple 7 pellets and the Barnes 250 gr FB Spit-Fire T-EZ's, using the Triple-7 209 primers. It's a reliable 3" at 50 yds with my old eyes.

I bought some of the Hornady 290 gr Bore Drivers, but haven't shot them yet. They get good reviews.

Hope this helps, mechanicuss out.

Two 777 pellets and Hornady 250 gr SST with Winchester 209 primers . Mine shoots just over an inch with that combo and it kills well

My T/C inlines love 100 grains of 777 and a 250 grain sabot or full bore conical. 150 doesn’t shoot as well.

Harvester PT Gold 300gr in a Crush Rib sabot with BH209 75gr by weight. Federal 209 Mag primers.

Mine seems to shoot everything well if the sabot isn't too tight. Right now running the 300 gr. Hornady SST and 90 grains of Shooters world MPB. Sabot being the ribbed black one for .452 diameter bullets.

Two 777 pellets with a 250!TC sabot has worked in my Encore the last two decades. Haven't lost a deer yet, usually they drop in 10 steps

Out of my Encore, 85 grains by weight of BH 209 under a 250 grain Hornady SST. 2060 fps

Same load out of my TC Omega does exactly the same.

I use 90gr BH209, harvester sabot’s, 240gr XTP’s.
Killed quite a few bucks with it. Same in my knight original disc rifle. Late season starts next Sat. here and I’m itching to get in the woods some more.

Going smokeless next year since BH209 cost more than gold.

I use 295g Powerbelts pushed with 3 pellets (150g) of IMR White Hots out easy 200yds. Ain't never had a deer or hog walk/run away. Seems like it knocks em off balance on impact at times.
I'll use 2 pellets, but not too often. Usually when I'm not shooting over 100yds.
