Here is the info on the Ruger, and their description that calls it a flash hider. Any idea what make it is?

Non-Restricted rifle Ruger model No. 1, .458 WIN MAG Single falling block, w/ bbl length 24" [Blued barrel and receiver. Fixed front and adjustable rear sights. Fitted with Weaver K.25 60-B scope. Walnut stock with Kick Eez branded recoil pad. Fitted with sling rings and flash hider style muzzle device. Mechanically and aesthetically appear near excellent and likely had light use with only minor use, handling and storage marks.] serial # 13311587, PAL required

That is very nice - maybe a muzzle brake?
I wouldn't think a flash hider would be very effective on THAT artillery! laugh

Far from a flash hider looks like a muzzle brake to me.

Pretty awesome rifle man I’d love to take something like that to Africa and go all Ernest Hemingway…

Brownells used to list bunch of variations on that muzzle brake theme.

Hope to win it, but it will be a live auction, so am sure it will go over 2000.

Piss on muzzle brakes. Ear splitter bastards. If I can’t handle the kick I’ll add weight or drop power.

I had one in 416 Rigby once. No need for a break on the muzzle.

Shot a 416 Rigby #1 years ago……I agree, brake totally unnecessary! memtb

Never had a brake on any of my magnums, not on 375’s or a 458 I shot, I don’t care for them.

This one just happens to come with what they call a flash hider, so they aren’t very knowledgeable about them.

Of the two 338 rifles I got in auctions, the Ruger is magna ported.

So hope this one can be taken off.

That brake looks terrible, and breaks the look of the rifle. It should be hacksawn off at the end of the front sight base.

I would hope it can be unscrewed.

If I can win it, I will set it up for me.
But am thinking I might have to go around 3,000
