If I had one and could get $1400 it would be GONE!

That’s approaching KS money

Well it was made by the same shop with same or better stock, and only limited to a 3 year run.

I have one in 7mm-08 and I wouldn’t take $1400 for it. I have said it before here, if I was limited to one rifle, that would be it.

Yeah I would love to change my 308 to 7-08. The 7-08 is a perfect caliber for that gun and the handy size. 5.25lb for the gun.

It is only a simple trip to the gunsmith for a 7-08. A good barrel and a trued up action is a wonderful thing!

I messed up and sold my model 7FS in 243. I won't make the same mistake with my 700FS. It's a keeper.

FS=Fiberglass Stock
KS=Kevlar Stock

FS wasn’t made in custom shop to my knowledge(my knowledge is not all knowing). I think these rifles got the same barrel as assembly line rifles and the actions weren’t treated the same. I know there are a lot of Rem aficionados on here. Chime in please. I’m curious now myself.

I believe that's correct according to my half-assed memory.

Funny, one can pick up a Rem 600 or 660 in .243 for half the price this model 7 sold for.

I looked this up here on fire

The KS had a cheek piece and round pistol grip knob. The FS had no cheek piece and square knob. The FS was made by Brown Precision and came in camo (pictured a couple of posts above) and in grey.
The FS models had an 18.5 inch barrel with sights. The KS (except for a very few, rare versions) had 20 inch barrels with no sights (except for the 350 Magnum).
There are also differences in barrel taper and contour. The FS has the standard Model Seven contour and was a production rifle. The KS has a slightly heavier-than-standard coutour and came from the custom shop.
