Been watching the LG Channels cooking shows and sometimes between segments they show stills of food and utensils. One of the still photographs shows an antique fork and carving knife. Really cool

It made me remember an old set that’s been in the garage in a workbench drawer for 50 years that was handed down. I decided to clean them up and put them to use.

The fork has a flip up support to keep it off of the counter when in use.

Evidently made an 1878. Engraved on the flip up portion of the fork.

The knife already had a pretty good edge on it but I put it on the Ken Onion and it’s a razor now. The sharpening steel with the set is really cool.

Work of ART, way cool.

The set reminds me of my grandmother's set which was similar and the fork had the same apparatus on it, they left about an inch of Horn exterior at the top and bottom of the grip for contrast. Your set is fancier though.

Good looking set, we have an old fork with a flip up like yours, but not in a set and not nearly as fancy.

That is cool.

I wonder how much that set is worth?

Very nice. Certainly family heirloom quality.
