Hi everyone. I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right place. It's not exactly what I would call gunsmithing so I'm posting it here. Thought some of you might appreciate it. I redid a mid 70's 94 that had some rust and pitting and looked like someone gave it a coat of polyurethane at some point. I stripped it all down and media blasted the receiver, lever and side gate. Cold blued the receiver and put a faux case hardening finish on lever, side gate, and barrel bands. Stripped and finished the stock and forend with tru oil to a satin finish. Stained the lighter forend to match using my homemade walnut stain. Matched perfectly. Was a fun project.

Looks Good.
The screw on the rear barrel band should be going in from the left side.

I thought the same thing when I took it apart. I went to correct it during reassembly and it wouldn't line up.so I put it back the way it was and it fit perfect. Any advice on what to do with that?

Iā€™d try putting a drift pin first from one side then the other and wiggling it around a bit to line things up in there.
Is there a possibility the barrel band was off the gun and reinstalled backwards? If so the screw will often not line up

Yes. I'm sure it was on backwards when I got it. I'll see if I can correct it with your advice. Thank you

Thanks. It was fun. All these projects kept me busy this winter. Spring is on its way. Looking forward to being outside.
