BCA Gen 2 side-charger, 20” 416R heavy barrel. .223 Wilde. Mounted on a $159 PSA MIL-Spec EPT lower. The ones marked HL and not marked are handloads with Fiocchi brass fired originally from a Mini 14, dents and all. 55gr VMax 27gr CFE .223 CCI 41. The others are Fiocchi factory 50gr VMax and Norma 69gr “Match”. Scope is a $100 Fullfield E1 3-9x50. 100 yards. Need to get this thing mounted on something without a 7-pound trigger

Kinda what I was thinking. It’s a heavy bugger at almost 10lbs, but that’s fine for a range toy/stationary varminter. Might swap the scope for a 3-15 Tract I have on something else, once I buy another lower.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

My side charger BCA 16" 5.56 upper on a PSA lower (blem) shoots great with 55gr Hornady soft point flat base over 27gr of CFE 223 and a CCI #41 primers.

Lucky guess on my part then. Wednesday I dialed in the scope at 50 in the rain with some Fiocchi and Norma FMJ, which shot about the same as from my Mini 14, absent the first round flyers, so that stuff is strictly for plinking. I had the CFE loads, five each at half-grain intervals from 24.5-26.5, and the Garmin showed the spreads getting smaller as the charge increased, so yesterday I loaded 75 at the next step, 27gr. Probably stop there as that Fiocchi brass is a good bit heavier than most. Got a lot of it, and more to come as I burn up the 50gr factory stuff. I paid about $20 per 50 for that a few years back and it’s shot well in everything I tried it in. Now of course it’s about $46 per 50 thanks to you-know-who’s thriving economy…….

great accuracy out of that, and if things continue the way they are going, we might as well move to China (same government and justice system).

AR's are like Glocks, they're ALL the same! No matter how much these idiots spend on fancy AR's, they won't shoot any better than rifles half the price, guaranteed! Enjoy!

In a way the accuracy your getting doesn't overly surprise me. I have several psa uppers that were not expensive either and they shoot really well. It doesn't allways take a lot of money to get a good shooting ar put together..mb

Not hard to make a heavy barreled AR shoot good groups but there is more to think about than small groups.

They make their own barrels, and the side-chargers are simpler than regular AR Uppers, less machining and fewer parts. The charging handle serves as a forward assist.
Lots of videos on them on YT, not all positive, but the Gen 2 fixes the loose handle problem that Gen 1s had and the handguards are better. Staking on the gas key is very positive, and the bolt is MPI’d.
Glad I went for the rifle-length gas tube. It’s very smooth.

Seems like the BCA lottery odds are getting better.
Either that or only the winners are posting here.

Not much differents in any of them. Forges are running cheap uppers and lowers with a different name on them.

Once again no. There is some difference. You will not win Camp Perry with one of my Bear Creek uppers.
But to say there is no difference is not the truth.
I have both ends of the spectrum. I have seen the difference. These days I don't need to top end.
How many cheap AR uppers do you have that will shoot 5 shot groups 3 inches and less at 600 yards? Some of them shoot groups I would be called a liar on.
