I've worked up 2 different loads for my 22-250. One is a load using VV N-135, a medium burning rate powder, like IMR 4064. And one using VV N-160, a slower burning powder, like RE 19. Both give me excellent groups. Although the N-160 load is about 150 fps slower than the N-135 load. My question is, which powder will cause my barrel the least amount of wear? Or is the difference enough to even worry about?
45 whatever powder/load that produces the most pressure will erode your barrel faster. I would imagine that the faster load would do it, tho a difference of 150 fps is probably meaningless.
The 22-250 is going to burn barrel's no matter what you load it with. I wouldnt worry about it, unless pressure sign's start to develope.......10
