We have been doing this since 2010 and it gets better every year. Great group of guys with lots of fun, bourbon, shooting and hog slaying. I got some good video of a couple of my kills to boot(.338-06 185 gr TTSX) Largest hog taken was 212 lb boar and runner up was my 181 lb boar
Enjoy!

That’s South TX. Any wetback encounters while y’all hunted down there ?

Last time I hunted that area, about 10 years ago, we were camped out on one of the State Wildlife Management Areas. Could here the wets talking to each other as they passed our campsite in the middle of the night.
Damn good deer hunting country. Javelina too. Saw plenty of hog sign, but saw no hogs while I was there.
The Chaparral Wildlife Management Area was doing their best to wipe them out, though, and they encouraged you to shoot all you saw while deer hunting.

I know them all, great bunch of men and the comradery is better than the hunting. I'm in the red shirt 5th from the right. I won't identify the others, there just might be outstanding warrants.

Good times are always had when there is a lot of prep work done. This group does it up first class! Nice pile of hogs and collection of booze (and ugly faces)! Congrats to all.

It's good to see you guys are still at it. I was getting live texts from Roof with all of the gory details. We were having a beer together last night and he was telling me how he put a stalk on 2 different pigs and shot them with his 357. I might have to try that if I ever get back down there. It sounds like fun. Thanks for the pics.

Dan, congrats on the bobcat.

I took a nice Scimitar Oryx a few years back and discovered that it's the only wild game my Mom likes and she's had one on order for a couple of years. So management Scimitar to the rescue.

Nice work on the vermin guys! Love the pics. Congrats on that scimitar too. That and axis are the two things my wife really likes to dine on as far as wild game goes.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Oryx is the best wild game meat above all else IMO.
Axis would be second on my list.

I would take Axis over Eland as my top two but the Scimitar I've eaten in the past was very good.
