Looking at a 3-9x40 or 3.5-10 x50 for my browning a bolt 30-06. Will be used for deer hunting & shots out to 200 yrds. How do they compare to bushnell 4200 & zeiss conquest mc?

Very favorably! Plus, they track properly.

The one I bought had a nice view but I couldn't zero it. It wouldn't adjust for windage. Sent it back to authorized repair center and it still doesn't work. I have 3 older weavers that have been rock solid for years.

I have one in 6.5-20 that I haven’t mounted on anything for four years. I’m a bit picky on optics and researched them before I bought it off of here. Very solid reputation.

I realize that doesn’t help with your hunting rifle needs but I’d buy a GS again even though this one isn’t earning its keep. Looking through it by hand as useless as that tends to be is favorable.

I have only had a couple of Grand Slams (one 3.5-10 and a 4.5-14). Very nice scopes that tracked well. I found the duplex to be fine enough for shots out to 400+ yards and course enough not to get lost in heavy ocotillo/mesquite brush.
I prefer my 3-9 Bushnell 4200s to the weavers on hunting scopes because I can mount them a little lower. As far as image/clarity/sharpness/eye relief, both are fantastic to my eyes.
