Anyone purchased an M1 or 1911 from CMP (or earlier from DCM) and successfully obtained serial number history on a particular firearm? If so, what's the process? Thanks.
Don’t know if they still do it but for a fee they could research their records to see if it a given rifle had come through them. If they have processed it, I’m pretty sure they won’t tell you who bought it.
