I have never shot and cooked a wild turkey. What would be the best way to prepare one in a wilderness camp with limited resources?

Just how big is Aroostook County you ask?

Slice the meat across grain into steaks and fry. Eat soon after cooking or it will be tough.

Best I’ve found after trying different methods id to simply cut it thin, take a meat hammer and pound it flat/tender, dredge it seasoned flour and fry, basically a schnitzel. Actually really good that way and easy to do camping.

I would fry up some turkey fingers or nuggets. I would probably have some honey mustard dressing in the cooler if I was truck camping.
I would use that or bbq sauce for a dip.
