I don't remember any. When Richard Nixion rode down 4'th avenue, there was peaceful protesting about the pending Atomic Bomb test on Amchitka Island. Are any of you aware of a violent rioting in Alaska....???
ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

No, and nor will there be. Anchorage is extremely top heavy with government military strength and state/local LEO presence.

Closest we get to this is fights between high schools. This has happened in the bigger schools but not for several years. I think that Lathrop had a riot about 22 years ago. West Anchorage had a student riot about 30 years ago. That is about it.
We had the famous Burrito Boycott in Fairbanks three years ago where a but of loony lefty cooks screwed with a dude's burrito and the place was forced out of business even if every loving vegan and homo tried to support.

I guess we could consider the invasion of America in the 40's by Japan, and the resulting battles, as the last substantial rioting.

That isn't filed under the Riot Act. That's full on "kill 'em all before they surrender" under the rules of war per the Geneva Convention.

Dang near one on UAF campus during Vietnam era. Cause was campus security killing a 3 year old bull moose that was hanging around campus, not bothering anything but the available browse. We had been walking by that bull for a week, within a few yards, and he hadn't even flattened his ears at us.
Pissed a lot of us off.

It seems like most rioting in the lower 48 is done in milder climate cities, in nice weather. The riot seasons in Alaska is shorter due to snow and cold. Plus the riots tend to happen where large department, electronics, and sneaker stores are clustered together so the looting is easier. Not sure if that applies in Alaska.
