Might be a surveillance pole cam as well if no one asked for a light. They may take it down when they’re done with the job.
Funny story, but I was trained by DHS to tap into power and put cams up on them probably 12-14 years ago. They were one of the main ways to watch suspected places both overseas and at home. We were more interested in terrorism or espionage but law enforcement uses the [bleep] out of them. They used to get the same complaints as that post. Folks would call after we'd put them up complaining about the light. Eventually when the operation was done we'd take it down and the residents thought they really had some say.

Anyone who doesn’t think they monitor the campfire is crazy.

I would take a nice 357 and shoot at it until it went out or the sun came up… Ooh! Nice one. No doubt. When taking out bothersome street lamps it’s important to stay cool and classy.

It wasn’t random and light poles ain’t what they used to be. Think cameras and directional microphones….
You’ve attracted their attention. Exactly. Brain reading technology has really advanced too so make sure to keep tinfoil on your head.

I've got one on the telephone pole in front of my house. I like it. When the wife comes home after dark it's great. Everything is lit up----nothing to trip her in the driveway, no one hiding in bushes, she can find the key for the dead bolt. Plus someone else is paying for it-----I don't have to use the porch light.

You’ve attracted their attention. Exactly. Brain reading technology has really advanced too so make sure to keep tinfoil on your head. It’s no joke. It’s everywhere. Your TV watches you. Your phone watches you. The gas station monitor watches you. It’s unavoidable. They know everything. Facial recognition on your phone is just a front. It’s actually a deep brain scan. That phone isn’t recognizing your facial features - it’s reading right through your eye; traversing the ocular nerve; and recording all your thoughts

That includes notification of all property owners affected, a public comment period, and a public hearing on the issue where planning a zoning committee will vote on it.

No DNA on shotgun pellets. Likely to attract some attention, though. Pretty noisy. I’m not sure jag was counting on leaving any witnesses.

Yeah, I won't have to use the porch light either now, but I liked it better when I was in control of when it was dark and when it was bright out there. I have a security flood light over the carport which automatically flips on if it senses motion, but it can be turned off by me as well, should I wish. Same in the backyard. I miss the control over the darkness/brightness out there.

Pellet to the sensor, not the light. If so inclined.

Apparently the state/fed got a warrant to put a surveillance camera on a power pole across the street from his house. They done the whole utility worker schitck so no one would pay any attention. It worked.

Btw, in Florida shooting a led street light would be a felony. And since you asked about it on the internet, I would avoid shooting it.
