I recently gave up my FFL after having one for almost 30 years. I am considering a collector FFL, but don't know if I really need such a thing.
Do you have one? Comments?

Are you planning on collecting curio's and relics? Or just buying a few firearms that peek your interest?

I went from ffl to c&r 25 years or more ago...worth it to me... but my newest gun was made in 1954. I'm just not interested in modern firearms.
One thing that may piss you off...you just have to live with their ignorance of the criteria...more people than not have no clue as to the requirements for a firearm to be c&r eligible...and there is no point in trying to show them the official online ATF rules on a smartphone.
They are generally the same people that go above and beyond to kiss ATF ass. Sometimes you can spot them just by their ad text, NO sales to (fill in the blanks).
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Have had C&R for long time. I used to have it on file with the likes of Brownells, Midway, for the discounts offered for eligible items.
Was great back when Mosins, Mausers, etc were cheap. For awhile I was buying old Remington and Savage rimfires just 'cause. Handy to have them shipped to my door.
Like flintlocke said, some online sellers won't honor a C&R for say a S&W M15 38 special and other C&R eligible guns.
