Does anybody have any experience with a 300 HAMR pistol? And by that I mean actual chronograph data? I am thinking about doing one to hunt with because I like my 300BO pistol so much and of course I am in the pursuit for more power. Does it even offer than much of a difference in the BO when you have the barrel that short? Does it even offer much improvement period?

I have a 16" hamr and I get on average 150-200fps more than my 16" 300 bo.

The 150 - 200 fps numbers sounds pretty normal. My 300 HAM'R has an 18" Shaw barrel. My brothers 300BO has a 16" barrel so I have never done an Apples to Apples velocity comparison. I would have thought that the 300 HAM'R would have been 200 - 250 FPS faster with the same barrel length. I may have been over optimistic.

You having both chamberings with the same barrel length, you should have a handle on what velocity gain to expect. Still 150 - 200 fps is nothing to sneeze at in that size package. I do not have a Can, so no need for heavy bullets at sub-sonic velocity. I like my 300 HAM'R pretty well.

For the pistol barrel length you might need to read through all several hundred posts over on the Texas Hunting Forum. I remember lots of short barrel posts reading through it. You should be able to locate it doing a search on the 300 HAM'R. I read through it more than once doing research before ordering my 300 HAM'R Barrel.
