LGS has one in better than excellent condition with pretty nice wood. It is D&T'd and is chambered in 30-06. Are these known to be good shooters? Any issues with them? Also, what bases fit the action?

MtnBoomer is your man! I believe he authored a thread regarding BGR's a few years back, as he had actually worked on putting these rifles together during his time with Kimber of Oregon.

Usable hunting accuracy is generally the case. My 270 is usually around an inch and a quarter with 140-150s, but worse with 130s. Have I claimed better, hmmm, I don't recall. LOL maybe... Made in 89-'91, I highly recommend carefully checking fit before firing. Some stocks shipped a bit moist. They're epoxy bedded at the lug. Most function excellent, but there are exceptions. Classic then as you say D&T'd, Talley and Warne make bases currently I believe and don't know regarding other makes using same sets. Mine are both Supers with integral bases. Longish scopes required. If I recall correctly some have had wonky chambers. My emphasis is on stocks.... It's an excellent open trigger CRF design IMO. I would typically recommend looking for a Super America if'n they are of interest, price be damned. Might take a look. It's been fun. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/18732309/1

It's priced at $1500 which seems fair given what Rem 700's are getting these days.

1500.00 is a good price. Paid that for one face to face, bought a couple on GunBroker for that plus taxes and shipping.
