Someone I know gave me a Silver Streak and a box of their projies.

I am hoping it will shoot more precisely with other projies and so, hope pellets may be a solution.
I know pellets are like 22 LR ammo, but am hoping someone has suggestions on JSB/H&N and weight.

Anyone?

NO, I do not care about other guns, other calibers.

Mine wasn't very accurate with the bullet shaped Sheridan pellets either. I got some regular wasp waisted pellets that did much better but I got rid of my Sheridan years ago and I can't remember what kind they were now.

Good luck finding those, but they are a great pellet.

Currently run the 13.73 gr. JSB Diabolo Exact in my .20 cal/R1 Carbine.

Really like them, and, w/ an MV of ~ 750 fps., will shoot bug-holes through an old leather work boot at 50 ft.

As a side note:

Have a ton of the 14.3 gr. Benjamin/Sheridan 5 mm pellets, that don't shoot very well out of my Beeman, but are a staple for the Streaks.

PM me for an unbeatable price on'em.

Hard to believe that at the modest velocity of a Sheridan that polymer tip would expand that lead pellet much. Back in our youth, a buddy and I shot thousands of the original Sheridan pellets from the cans then the yellow plastic cartons before we knew there was anything better. We fed the cat for lots of years breast of blackbird with those old Sheridan Blue and Silver Streaks. We could never get any expansion from those pellets and birds and rabbits went down, but flopped around some. Then I discovered the Beeman Crow Magnum pellets and what a difference those made with DRT results. That flat wide hollow point meplat seemed to make all the difference. Probably terrible ballistic coefficient if there is such a thing from an air rifle, but they sure grew up my own Silver Streak at the modest ranges where I shot them.

I use some of those polymags for fun. But I get the best results from the H&N Field Target Trophy. I use light and heavy to the gun's preference. Test then buy lots of tins of pellets. YMMV. RZ.

The original Ashcan style pellets penetrate really well but are not very accurate... They were replaced by a standard looking pellet that was very accurate and a red box "Diablo" that was also great.

Crossman had the Premier that was excellent but no longer made..for that matter many of the great .20 pellets are no longer made...

Probably your best bet is the JSB as pictured above...

So what to do with internet information and a desire to see this gun shoot better that it did with the Sheridan pellets . . .
Jump on the net and put in an order

Needing some Air Arms 16s for another airgun, it seemed 4 different pellets would be the charm.

H&N Baracuda 13.27
H&N field Target Trophy 11.42
JSB Exact Diablo 13.73

AND

That is the order they performed in a VERY limited close up test with 10 pumps.
Reading a bit on the airgun, I may need to drop back to 8 pump strokes.
If the groups were measured and all of that math applied it would be interesting if the groups were that different.

FAR better than the Sheridan pellets anyway.

As old as this airgun is, I wonder if it would improve with a full rebuild/seals.
Leather or synthetic piston seal? What if anything to lube it with if not leather?
Silicone acceptable?
Not even sure how to determine the manufacture date.

Best be looking for a Sheridan specific site I can see . . .

Eight pumps(as reccommended) gave me a pattern at twelve yards, 10 tightened that to a group!

I'm thinking new seals may improve things.

These are the pellets that work best for me, very accurate and deadly on small critters and Magpies lol

Air Arms Diabolo Field Heavy 10.3 g.

A few Pictures:

1st picture was a 2 1/2" diameter target at if memory serves @ 20 yards, the other pictures are comparisons of other pellets I have tried. When I bought my .177 to get rid of a Magpie Infestation, I tried a total of 6 different brands the Air Arms were by far the most accurate out of my rifle.
