Measure the barrel, if its .550 at the muzzle then it will be Mountain rifle, if its .660 then it will be regular stainless BDL I am pretty sure the SS BDL had 24"barrels.

Measure the barrel, if its .550 at the muzzle then it will be Mountain rifle, if its .660 then it will be regular stainless BDL I am pretty sure the SS BDL had 24"barrels. You may be correct, long action SS came in 24 inch barrels.

My 7mm-08 SS is not a Mountain rifle it has sporter barrel Not doubting you one bit but I wonder if that was a special run from Grices or one of the other distributors. A little more research yesterday still shows all standard chamberings in the BDL SS as having a 24" barrel as have the one I owned or was around. A 22" barrel would make more sense and be a bit more handy for most hunting situations.
