If anyone cares, these are the grips I replaced. The old, worn walnuts came on it, and I made a pair of Corian fake ivory grips to replace the beater walnuts maybe 15 years ago. I built them more like the second and third series Woodsman grips with the little 'ears' on them.

I have another great condition 1st Sport that still has really nice walnuts, that I won't change out. But I don't use that one much.

What do you trap pack rats with for bait? Got a herd of the damn things that eat anything not made of steel on the tractor out at the farm. Last year they ate the plastic off the battery until it had a hole and the water leaked out.

most anything will work for bait. Don't laugh, but the trap on my porch just gets dry dogfood.

Wow, what a beautiful collection of Colts, and an endless stream of packrats (targets). You certainly live the good life. πŸ‘πŸ‘

A friend of mine had a Match Target just like yours. We would take it out to the dump and shoot rats, cans or anything else that caught our attention. That gun pointed like your index finger and with a little practice it was easy to hit thrown cans.

Saw one a while back in great condition at one of my local pawn shop haunts. Didn't pick it up because they are a strictly right handed gun. Looking back, that was foolish. I could have sold it to a right handed friend or used it for trade bait

There is this thing called a simple grip swap. Huntsman/Challenger grips do away with that stupid left side thumbrest. Or a guy can just sand them off.... My lefthanded boys have no problem using them, as they're used to the safeties by now....

They have no problem going over the top with the right thumb, two-handed grip. Or just using either thumb on a one handed grip. They've seemed to adjust just fine, just as they have with the 1911's and single-side safeties.
