Grabbed one of those #1s in .450 Bushmaster
Most of the ones I have seen have been NIB and priced at a collector's premium. I was more interested in one that had some use, at a reasonable price.
The .450 Bushmaster is the only No 1 variant that came from the factory with a threaded barrel and muzzle brake. The 20 inch barrel and lack of a magazine in the action, results in a very short OAL. So easy to handle in a blind, even after adding a suppressor. From what little I've dealt with subsonic loads in the .45-70, the case is a little big for the application. Hoping the .450 Bushy case better lends itself to light loads, with relatively heavy bullets.
Given the homely laminated stock, I might even cut it to fit me
