Very close but I thought De la Hoya won on the basis of the last round. On the other hand, some of the rounds which were close or scored for Floyd, would not have been so if De la Hoya had used his jab more effectively and more frequently. He also should have used a right uppercut on the inside and roughed Mayweather up more. Mayweather had a lot of fights in which he won close or split decisions which were highly questionable. A fight between these two would have been close at any stage in their respective careers but I think De la Hoya would have had the edge. GD
