With all due respect, I'm not sure what convenience store you shop at, but these knives are marked hand forged, and hand made in Solingen Germany.

With all due respect, it appears there are several makers using that name. Some specificity on your part might get you an answer more to your liking.

They (the name) became second grade over time. the vintage ones are probably more valuable.

Yeah you're probably right. The one in your picture isn't anywhere as nice as the ones I have and others that I've seen. Thanks for the comments. Doesn't seem like anyone else has much knowledge of these.

To get specific info on a knife like what you're asking you will need to post pics & the tangstamps . Collectors can date it by the tang stamp. A good source might be Bladeforums or Allaboutpocketknives.com

Several threads at all about pocked knives as Vince indicated. Here is one:
https://allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/viewtopic.php?p=6916

another good one from Blade forums with some great history.
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/latest-on-bulldog-brand-knives.1533264/

Over the years certain brand names get bought up and then remade at far different quality than the originals.
