The new listing on Guns International S&W 396 Mountain lite looks real nice for very reasonable listing of $750. I would buy that if I could. Fugly Nite Guards depending on caliber are often listed well above $1000.

Absolutely outstanding.
What is curt harlow's handle over there? 44Magget, I think he is trying to retire and his backlog was 2 years last I heard. His work is simply outstanding. Here is a pair of Culina fancy walnut stocks he reshaped a little and checkered in a Roper-style pattern for me. On a M27-2. Sorry for the thread drift.

I would have recognized those as his right off.

Those are outstanding, much better then what S&W used to put on their guns. To their credit the grips on their modern guns have improved tremendously.

I ignored the model 10 for years. Then I picked one up, a 4" round but with a heavy barrel and it is a pleasue to shot. Don't overlook a nice revolver with fixed sights. I swapped for a model 15 shortly after buying thd model 10. The 38 special is a great round.

I like my 2 1/2 inch M19. Awesome little gun. Easy to shoot about any 38Spl. Don’t shoot a lot of 357 out of it.
Wouldn’t mind the same configuration in a M66.

I'm not sure how to pick a "favorite", but the model 10 is nothing short of legendary.
