Per title - looking for some Blackhorn 209 substitute black powder for an upcoming fall hunt. Prefer the pre Hodgdon owned Western powder - but will consider either manufacturer. Due to hazmat shipping issues prefer to purchase in SE Michigan (zip 48423) unless you can ship hazmat material. Please pm price & quantity any you may be able to part with.

Thanks

I definitely have a jug. Won’t be home for another month or so.

Intersection of 23 and I-96 would be approx location

I can wait - Please pm price and if a full 8 or 10 ounce jug or other quantity. I can drive to that location for pick-up.

Thanks

Why the Blackthorn has become impossible to find is very frustrating. Shoots very accurately in my CVA Wolfe. The CVA Wolfes are very accurate to begin with, especially for an entry level muzzleloader. I got a Woodman Arms this winter and expect nothing but the same results when I shoot it. The Woodman is capable of using smokeless powder was one reason I purchased it due to the lack of Blackthorn 209. Then as is if a 10oz container wasn't expensive enough they trimmed it to 8oz container awhile back. Good luck on your search.

I walk around like I'm ok, but deep down inside, I wanna buy another gun.

Since Hodgdon bought out Western Powder company they managed to significantly raise price per bottle and reduce bottle quantity from 10 oz to 8 oz. Then made it impossible to obtain. I would go to smokeless myself - but smokeless powder is not allowed in Colorado for muzzleloaders and that is what I need this for.

Up^^ I have had a couple members respond and am purchasing their BH209. I could still use one or two more bottles for my elk hunting group as three of us use BH209 and all of our supplies are very limited for this fall.

Thanks

I'm using what I would have spent on BH209 to convert a 45-70 single shot barrel to a SML and use the powders I have plenty of.

OP, Brian's Surplus in Greentown, IN had some for $110 per can a few weeks ago. Take the Gas City off I69 and drive west for about 20 miles.

I have 2 or 3 bottles but am on the west side of Illinois, so a deal probably wouldn't work logistically.

Local Sportsman's Warehouse is well stocked with BH209. Expensive, but they have it in stock and it has been for months. Northern California.
