A local officer passed today after being shot during a domestic disturbance early sat. morning.

UPDATE: Wednesday 6 p.m. - CCPD Officer Kyle Hicks, who was shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call over the weekend, has died as a result of his injuries.
CCPD announced the news on Facebook, giving their condolences to the Hicks family and friends.
Social media posts from police departments from all over the Coastal Bend, including Alice, Cameron County, Harlingen, Brownsville, Bishop, Rockport and more are pouring in, all offering their condolences and support.
In a final act of service to his community, Officer Hicks will be donating his organs to those in need. He leaves behind a wife and four children.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce to our Police Family and the Corpus Christi Community the passing of Officer Kyle Hicks. Officer Hicks sustained injuries in the line of duty on April 20, 2024. We mourn the loss of a great husband, father, brother, son, friend and co-worker. Officer Hicks served with the Corpus Christi Police Department for two years.
The family asks for privacy and continued prayers.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Officer Hicks.
As his last act of service, Officer Hicks will be giving the gift of organ donation to save as many lives as possible.

The shooter was shot and killed by another officer at the time of the incident.Good riddance for that.What a sad day for this family and city.
