There's no comparing a fresh homegrown
tomato off the vine for less than a few minutes
and some something from the store passing
as a tomato

I'm hoping that nothing bad happens to the
plants that germinated and survived so far.
I always look forward to that first one

Good Luck to everyone that has plants
in the ground

There's a thread on another forum entitled Favorite Large Slicing Tomato Variety.
"Mortgage Lifter" got a lot of mentions.
Supposed to be an heirloom type.
I'm going to have to try it.

Beefsteak got a lot of mentions, too.
This one reminds me on my grandfather's garden.

Wow! Those look great.

I have some tomato plants in, but not anywhere near getting tomatoes, yet. They've put some flowers out already, but no sight of a tomato in them, yet.

Here are some I've grown in previous seasons.

Always look forward to that first bacon and tomato sandwich of the year. Unfortunately I have to wait until the end of July.

Tomatoes were invented to make ketchup, salsa, and marinara sauces. Or go for the gusto and eat them fried while they are green.
Raw? Can’t eat one, lol

Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.
