Just thought it was a dumb move to go after POTUS 2024. He could have kept grooming and polishing himself for a very positive 2028 POTUS result. Ya, some version of that statement has been parroted what, a bizillion times on CF? Supposedly this meeting was about money, campaign money.
Why would DeSantis asks for a sit down with Trump to discuss campaign fundraising?
The people that funded DeSantis and ran his action committee are big time Never-Trumpers, bringing this donor network of DeSantis’ into Trump’s camp would come with a lot of Strings attached.
The question, What does DeSantis want in return?

Rob DeSantis has been a genius when it has come to codifying into law Conservative principles in Fla. his strategic mind would be extremely useful in MAGA. To say he brings nothing to the table seems a big stretch.
On the other hand, he allowed himself to be used by the deep state when he ran as the non-Trump MAGA candidate this year and that makes him deeply suspicious to me. I wouldn’t trust him if I were Trump which is a real shame.
All that having been said, DeSantis also is an Ivy League grad and was in military intel. Those create pretty serious hurdles for him to overcome if he seeks to gain credibility with the MAGA crowd.

A puzzle to me. Here’s a guy that won election by a hair the first time around with a Conservative agenda, does what he said he would and cruises to reelection with an easy 20% majority. Meanwhile President Trump is constantly ridiculing the guy, doing the Democrats’ for ‘em. So now he’s Ron Deazzhole? Why? Smoke screen. I am predicting that Ron will be the VP nominee. It's all a smoke screen. kwg

Not to disparage his good deeds, Desantis is a globalist stooge in the big picture. On the local screen he looks heroic because social issues upset people who do not understand broader issues. Trump is in trouble. The Deeps are sugar coating the poison pill. Trump is MAGA from the hat up. After what he just helped Mike Johnson accomplish removed all doubt. But he's our best hope...What happened to Scott? Thought he was it.

Bans DEI Makes “gender affirming care” illegal. Wins reelection by a landslide in a State that had been teetering on the red/blue edge. What did I miss? I don't have anything against DeSantis. In fact, I think he's done a great job as our Governor. Just thought it was a dumb move to go after POTUS 2024. I know hes done a couple things that werent the smartest move at the time, but all in all hes been a pretty solid conservative imo

I understood Trump asked to meet with DeSantis , not the other way around, supposedly about mutual effort in fund raising. Sounds reasonable to me, DeDantis is a popular governor and Trump is pretty tied up right now.
