not a suppressor but a muzzle brake vs. no brake on a 300 Win mag. with a 26 inch barrel . i shot this rifle at 100 yards with the muzzle brake on it shot 4.2 inches lower from center of target in a 3/4 inch 3 shot group , i then took brake off group shot center of target same 3/4 inch 3 shot. did it twice with basically same results both ways. that was enough recoil for me that day on my range ,i am not sure about a velocity change i never put the chronograph out anymore but the rifle was shooting 2900-3000 FPS without brake. so it did make a point of impact change , not sure what this could mean ? but i will take it to Africa without the brake .Pete53

My 375HH has been cut back to 20”. It’s one of my favorite guns.

As for the ammo matching the barrel, if you’re planning an international hunt, you may or may not want (or even be allowed to) take your silencer.

I've been using Shaw barrels (among other brands) for many years. I can't remember them trying to "talk" me into a different contour than ordered.

They also offer Remington factory contour barrels, not just their numbered contours.

The reason I mentioned the heavier contours is because smiths tend to be a little hesitant on threading barrels with thin muzzles, not due to a contour issue per se. The reasoning is to have enough shoulder for a good seat, as well to keep enough metal between the root of the threads and the bore. Have had multiple smiths bring this up. One way around it if going with a light contour to use a pressed on collar, or to have the barrel contour cut with a belled out muzzle, ala the 18” Barrett Fieldcraft.

Also, ER Shaw has the minimum calibers listed for their barrel contours on their site, and their heavy sporter is the minimum numbered contour listed to handle 375. By weight, it’s similar to other company’s #4 (specifically Lilja and Douglas).

Fortunately they do offer Remington contours, and their Rem mag contour will accept 375.
