Just an academic question is there such thing as quick release bases and rings that when removed come back to the exact same spot as far as sighting in goes...
I have never seen anything like that I was wondering if somebody else has

G&H and Jaeger side-mounts reliably return to zero.
Leupold QR do too, but the locking levers are so small and fragile that I no longer use them.

I think I have Jaegers on my Merkel k3….. what ever they are, they’re amazing. They come right back to zero after taking the scope off and then putting it back on..

Warne.
Certainly within an inch of zero at 100 yards.

The Recknagel twist ring/bases on my Merkel K1's do. as well as this K4 The K3's take a saddle mount as do the Blaser rifles R93, R8, & K95 If one has a Picitinny rail I would imagine one of the following would work ERA-TAC https://www.eratac.de/en/SPUHR https://spuhrwebshop.com/en/Chances are the Burris QD PEPR mounts would also be an option. The old Leupold Detacho mounts are repeatable too.
I like Warnes, except that the detached recoil lug is too easy to lose when swapping scopes in the field.

I've used Warne successfully. Maybe not an absolutely exact RTZ but very close.

I've had Leupolds on my Encore muzzleloader for over 20 years. I take the scope off at the end of the season to clean it good. Don't remember ever having to adjust it when put back on.

I have never seen anything like that I was wondering if somebody else has "Exact Same Spot", at what distance? I've had great luck w/Talley Screw-Lock rings on steel Talley bases using a Tq driver on a couple of 375 H&H's. Slight forward pressure on the scope while tightening the screw-lock to keep the rings mated up against the small recoil lug on the leading edge of the bases, Tq driver to keep the process repeatable. Keep the process the same, whatever that process is. I snug both then Tq front, then rear. I suspect their QR rings are just as good beings they're the same rings with a lever instead of a screw to set them in place.
I can walk on water.......................but I do stagger a bit on alcohol.

EAW Quick-Loc mounts are good quality and repeatable.

When first testing out the Leupold QR base/ring combo on my 35 Whelen AI about 30 years ago, after sighting in, I shot a 5-shot group, removing and replacing the scope between every shot, that went well under 1 MOA. Pretty much sold me on those mounts. Apparently, the stud into the hole construction is also a very strong design, recoil-wise. If Leupold makes a QR base for a rifle, that's pretty much the base I choose, unless weight is a big consideration. Being all steel, they aren't lightweights. One can also mount the old Redfield flip-up peep on the back of the Leupold QR base, and I have done this on several rifles I mount these on. Just mount a front sight and the flip-up peep is the rear. Rest of the barrel is clean.

I have used the leupold original qr and the qrw. Both work fine for big game hunting rifles as far as repeatable return to zero. Not varmint rig repeatable, but within an 1 moa or so.
